"Yesterday, on December 18, 2017, Governor Andrew Cuomo signed our BSN in 10 bill (S6768/A1842) making New York the first state in the nation to implement a mandate that will require all future persons seeking to become Registered Nurses to obtain a baccalaureate degree in nursing 10 years after they have been licensed. The law is inclusive, it recognizes the worth of graduates from associate degree nursing programs, it highly appreciates the faculty of those programs in preparing safe nurses, but it also acknowledges that more education makes a difference in the lives of the patients and clients who we serve".
