When news of potential PPE (Personal Protection Equipment) shortages started coming in from hospitals, some of the Stat Staff family stepped up. Stat Staff employee, Sarah Pechar, and Eleanor Van Valkenburg, mother-in-law of Stat Staff’s Laurie, both jumped into action and started sewing homemade masks for donation to caregivers in-need.
“I saw the need and thought it would be helpful, and I thought Stat Staff would be a good organization to contact to see if I could help,” Eleanor said when asked why she decided to start making the masks.

Sarah and Eleanor’s contributions truly inspired us.
Right now is the time to support all healthcare workers. We’re on the cusp of a worldwide crisis, and pulling together is the only way to get through to the other side.
We at Stat Staff are proud to include Sarah and Eleanor’s masks in the PPE care packages we’re sending to our caregivers in need.

“Being able to make masks for our caregivers who are out on the front line of the pandemic provides me an opportunity to support the needs of the caregivers. Being able to give back, even if only in a small way, makes me feel a little less helpless in a time of uncertainty,” Sarah said.

We will continue to support our caregivers in every way we can. Together, we can get through this.
We thank Sarah and Eleanor for their contributions, and we also thank all the healthcare professionals who are risking their lives to save others.
